Apple's 2023 Event Plans

In an average year, Apple holds three to four events. There's usually a spring event in March, the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, a September event that's focused on iPhone and Apple Watch, and sometimes an October event if there are notable iPad or Mac refreshes expected in the fall.

In this article, we take a look at what we expect Apple to launch in 2024 and beyond. We have investigated every rumor and trend we could find to bring you our predictions. Read on to find out what could be in store.

New iPhone 15 Series

At the September "Wonderlust" event, Apple introduced the 6.1-inch iPhone 15, 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus, 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max. All of the new iPhones have USB-C ports, the Dynamic Island, next-generation Ultra Wideband chips, and faster 5G Qualcomm modems.

The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max also have a 3-nanometer A17 Pro chip, thinner display bezels, a titanium frame, and more advanced camera systems. Apple did distinguish the two Pro models this year, adding a 3x telephoto lens to the iPhone 15 Pro and a 5x telephoto lens to the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

New Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2

Apple also introduced the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2, plus a new version of the AirPods Pro with a USB-C AirPods case. The Apple Watch Series 9 has a larger display with thinner bezels, a faster S7 chip, improved battery life, and new health features like blood pressure monitoring and glucose sensing.

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is a more rugged version of the Apple Watch, designed for outdoor activities and extreme sports. It has a titanium case, a sapphire crystal display, a longer battery life, and enhanced GPS and cellular connectivity.

New Macs with M3 Chips

Apple held a second fall event on Monday, October 30 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. The event was focused on the Mac, with Apple introducing the M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max chips. The new chips were introduced in an updated 24-inch iMac, 14-inch MacBook Pro, and 16-inch MacBook Pro.

Apple discontinued the 13-inch MacBook Pro after the launch of the M3 14-inch MacBook Pro. The new Macs have improved performance, battery life, graphics, memory, and storage. They also have a redesigned keyboard with full-size function keys, an HDMI port, an SD card slot, and MagSafe charging.

New Vision Pro Headset

At WWDC, Apple introduced a brand-new product category: the Vision Pro headset. The Vision Pro is a mixed reality device that combines augmented reality and virtual reality in one headset. It has a sleek design with two high-resolution displays, advanced sensors, cameras, microphones, speakers, and haptic feedback.

The Vision Pro runs on a new operating system called visionOS, which allows users to interact with immersive 3D content and apps. The Vision Pro is expected to launch in early 2024, with a price tag of $2,999.

Apple Gadgets Discontinued in 2023

As we near the end of 2023, it's a good time for Apple fans to reflect on the significant changes in the company's lineup. The firm no longer manufactures some Apple gadgets and accessories.

Some of the products that Apple discontinued in 2023 are:

  • The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Intel processor
  • The AirPods with Lightning case
  • The HomePod mini
  • The iPhone 12 series
  • The Apple Watch Series 7

These products are still available from some retailers and resellers, but they are no longer sold by Apple or updated with new features.
