LaLiga: I don’t understand, it’s impossible – Nistelrooy on Kroos retirement
Former Real Madrid star, Ruud van Nistelrooy, has said that he does not understand why veteran German midfielder, Toni Kroos is resigning from playing football.
DAILY POST reported earlier that the Germany international will play his last club game in the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
In the absence of any injury, the 34-year-old will go on to join for the preparation for Euro 2024, which will be held in his home country this summer.
He will hang his boots after that competition and former Dutch striker Nistelrooy, who played for Los Blancos from 2006 to 2010, told Marca,
“I don’t understand Kroos retiring, it’s impossible for me, it can’t be… but hey, Real Madrid have a great team for the future, now also Mbappe is coming.”
Kroos join the Spanish capital city outfit from Bayern Munich for €25 million in 2014 and has won 21 titles during his tenure at the club.
