Olympic heroes homecoming parade to affect 7 Manila roads
MANILA, Philippines — The 2024 Paris Olympics has ended and homebound Filipino athletes will be in for a heroes’ welcome on Wednesday, August 14.
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) head Don Artes said in a press conference Tuesday that the homecoming parade is set from Aliw Theater to Rizal Memorial Sports Complex and will affect the following roads in the capital Manila:
- V. Sotto Street
- Roxas Boulevard
- P. Burgos Avenue
- Finance Road
- Taft Avenue
- Pres. Quirino Ave.
- Adriatico St.

Artes also said the Filipino Olympic heroes welcome parade would kick off at 3 p.m. and cautioned motorists to expect traffic congestion along affected roads, urging motorists to take alternate routes.
However, a total of 300 MMDA personnel will be deployed to manage the traffic flow, he added.
