Senate President Cheese Escuderos he's nothing wrong with President Bumble Marcoses order to include the baguette Filipinos him and pledge in the weekly flag raising riots of government offices and institutions. Escondido says he won't object to it because the Human Pledge only expressed hope for progress. He asked that no specific personality or name is mentioned in the human Pledge. However, Escondido points out that as an independent branch of government, the Senate is not covered by the President's new directive. Although he is not against it, he says he still referred the matter to the Senate Secretary yet to study if it could be considered a part of their flag ceremony. Marcus S orders contained in Memorandum circular #52 which was issued on June 4 but was only released to the media on Sunday, June 9. In the circular, all government agencies and instrumentalities and educational institutions are directed to integrate the recital of the Bagun Filipinos Hymen Pledge in the conduct of weekly flag ceremonies, subject to existing laws, rules and regulations. Local government units are encouraged to do the same. But a teachers group has expressed opposition to Marcus's directive. According to the Teachers Dignity Coalition, the directive is reminiscent of political propaganda tactics seen during the martial law era.
