Surge of Chinese warships noted in Ayungin Shoal - Philippine Navy | INQToday
The Philippine Navy says there is a surge of Chinese warships in a human Shoal in the West Philippine Sea. According to Philippine Navy data on Tuesday, there were eight people Celebration Army Navy warships monitored from June 4 to 10. This is a three fold increase in the previous monitoring period when there were only two People's Liberation Army Navy vessels recorded. Aside from these warships, there are also five China Coast Guard vessels and 29 Chinese Maritime militia vessels. In totals, there are 42 Chinese ships in a human Shoal within the said monitoring period. The regular resupply mission in a BRP Sierra Madre grounded in the Shoal has become one of the flash points of tension in the West Philippine Sea as Chinese vessels resorted to usage of water cannons during previous missions which even injured a Philippine Navy personnel. At one point on May 19, CCG personnel aboard the Rigid Hall inflatable boats seized and dumped overboard food and other supplies which were AirDrop to buy a military aircraft afford a naval post.
