Sanctioned Russian tanker transfers crude oil off M’sia, says report

PETALING JAYA: The SCF Primorye, a Russian-owned oil tanker sanctioned by the United States, transferred one million barrels of Urals crude to another vessel off Malaysia, according to data from analytics firm Kpler.

The oil cargo transfer was made on June 3 to the tanker, Ocean Hermana, Reuters reported.

The report said Ocean Hermana remained floating off Malaysia, but is expected to eventually discharge its cargo in China.

Sovcomflot and Ocean Hermana’s ship manager, India-based Sygnius Ship Management, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

SCF Primorye is among several Sovcomflot-owned tankers sanctioned by Washington in October for transporting Russian oil priced above the G7’s price cap of US$60 (RM 283) a barrel.
