Winter is coming, and so are some great movies and shows

As the days get shorter and the nights get colder, there's nothing better than curling up on the couch with a hot drink and some quality entertainment. Whether you're looking for a thrilling action-adventure, a heartwarming comedy, a gripping drama, or a spooky horror, we've got you covered with our list of the best movies and shows to watch this winter.

Action-adventure: The Matrix Resurrections

The long-awaited fourth installment of the iconic sci-fi franchise is finally here, and it promises to be a mind-blowing experience. Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity, who are somehow alive and back in the Matrix. They must face new threats and old enemies, while rediscovering their powers and their love. The Matrix Resurrections will be released in theaters and on HBO Max on December 22.

Comedy: Don't Look Up

If you're in the mood for some laughs, don't miss this star-studded satire from director Adam McKay. Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence play two low-level astronomers who discover that a giant asteroid is heading towards Earth. They try to warn the world, but face indifference and ridicule from the media, the public, and the president (played by Meryl Streep). Don't Look Up will premiere on Netflix on December 24.

Drama: Succession Season 3

The critically acclaimed and Emmy-winning series about a dysfunctional media dynasty returns for its third season, and it's more intense than ever. The power struggle between Logan Roy (Brian Cox) and his children escalates, as they deal with the fallout of Kendall's (Jeremy Strong) betrayal. Expect more twists, turns, and dark humor as the Roys fight for control of their empire. Succession Season 3 is airing on HBO and HBO Max.

Horror: Chucky

Fans of the classic Child's Play movies will love this new series that brings back the notorious killer doll Chucky. The show follows a teenage boy who finds an old Chucky doll at a yard sale, unaware of its evil nature. Soon, he becomes Chucky's target, as well as his accomplice in a series of murders. The show also features appearances from original cast members like Brad Dourif, Jennifer Tilly, and Alex Vincent. Chucky is streaming on Syfy and USA Network.
