Where to Stream ‘Civil War' Online

After a very impressive box office haul when it was released in early March, you can now watch Civil War at home - even though the movie is still in theaters.

Civil War is currently available to buy or rent online, including in 4K Ultra HD, on Prime Video (where it's on sale for 11 percent off), Apple TV and other video-on-demand platforms.

Distributed by A24, Civil War is expected to stream on Max exclusively for subscribers sometime this summer when its current theatrical run is over. In December 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery signed a deal with A24 to bring the distributor's theatrical releases - including Priscilla, Dream Scenario, Dicks: The Musical, The Iron Claw and others - to its streaming service in 2024.

Civil War: Storyline, Plot

Written and directed by Alex Garland, Civil War is set in a dystopian alternative reality where the United States is engulfed in a brutal civil war between Loyalists and Western Forces. A group of journalists led by Lee (Kirsten Dunst) and Joel (Wagner Moura) bring on a young and inexperienced photojournalist named Jessie (Cailee Spaeny), as the group embarks on a cross-country journey to interview the president of the United States (Nick Offerman), as the Western Forces march on Washington, D.C.

The movie also stars Stephen McKinley Henderson, Sonoya Mizuno, Jefferson White, Nelson Lee, Evan Lai and Jesse Plemons.
