The Seattle Mariners optioned infielder Luis Urias to Triple-A Tacoma on Friday and recalled outfielder Jonatan Clase.

Urias, 26, started 25 of the 34 games he played in this season at third base but was batting just .152 with three home runs and 12 RBIs.

A veteran of seven seasons with the San Diego Padres (2018-19), Milwaukee Brewers (2020-23), Boston Red Sox (2023) and Mariners, Urias is a career .230 hitter with 51 home runs and 192 RBIs in 479 games.

Clase, who turned 22 on Thursday, made his major league debut April 15 and batted .222 with a double and three RBIs in nine games before he was sent back to Tacoma.
