“Seinfeld” Star Jason Alexander Dons Colorful Hair Extensions to Play Teen Girl In New Commercial
The 'Seinfeld' star hilariously shows why Mike's Amazing is the perfect choice for a BLT while playing eight different characters
Jason Alexander has put his acting chops to the test!
The Seinfeld star, 64, hilariously shows why Mike's Amazing is the perfect choice for a BLT while playing eight different characters in a new commercial for the Chefler Foods condiment brand.
In the new ad, Alexander begins by looking at a restaurant at a diner and asking a waitress, "How's the tilapia?" Alexander, portraying a waitress in a black wig and blue uniform, answers, "Never order diner tilapia, babe."
A voice, which turns out to be a mobster version of Alexander, then offers the same advice, saying, "You never order diner tilapia."

After a line-order cook, also played by Alexander, screams out from the back, "Oh, never!" Alexander, wearing a pink blouse and colorful hair extensions, says, "Eww, never!"
Then, the various diner members tell Alexander to "Get the BLT," the waitress says, "When there's Mike Amazing, you get the BLT." Alexander then happily adds Mike's Amazing to his sandwich after it arrives at his table.
In a press release statement, the actor said he decided to participate in the commercial because it "spoke directly to my heart."
"When I read this character script, it spoke directly to my heart. Each persona is unapologetic in their own way, which perfectly matched the authenticity of Mike's Amazing," he said.
Apart from starring in the new commercial, Alexander is also busy performing at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater's production of Judgment Day.
In the production, which runs till Sunday, June 2, Alexander plays "corrupt, morally bankrupt lawyer" Sammy Campo.
According to a synopsis, after being threatened with "eternal damnation by a terrifying angel after a near-death experience," Campo "forms an unlikely bond with a Catholic priest who is having his own crisis of faith."
The role drew his interest due to his character's "compelling" nature.
"Some of the characters I've been asked to play are compelling because their behaviors are covering a very vulnerable heart. They are people who care deeply about something and have never been rewarded for caring," he toldPlaybill.

"So they develop this veneer, this shield, this coat of non-ethics to protect their heart," continued Alexander. "In most of the pieces where I play characters like that, this heart gets revealed."
