Moms Are Using Farmer’s Water Troughs Indoors for a Brilliant Storage Solution
When it comes to aesthetic toy storage solutions, moms often have to get creative. Most affordable options are usually plastic primary colored tubs, while the more neutral and design friendly picks tend to be found at high-end stores and come with price tags that make overtaxed parents flinch.
Now, this mom says she's found the perfect solution, and it's not only great for keeping clutter and toys tucked away, it's also pretty easy on the eyes.
The rustic looking water station shared by @foxymamabailey has all the benefits you'd want in a bin for smaller kids — no sharp corners to fall on and no lid to get struck by when you're digging around for the perfect toy — and as one of the commenters pointed out, it's something that can grow with your family.
"We did this," they posted. "And now it’s been a toy box, swimming pool, and firewood holder." Talk about versatility! Depending on where you shop, this durable tub may come with a heftier price tag. The one in this video can be found at Home Depot for $179, or you can find something comparable on Amazon, like this Achla 55 gallon model, for just $54.

IKEA Bins Make Great Totes
We already know that IKEA has almost everything we could want for our homes. But, now one mama is showing us how we can use something their products — specifically their wood crates — to organize our kid's stuff.
Add a few wheels and some fun decals like this mom did, and you've got a portable storage solution that makes it easy to put stuff away when your kids are done playing.
Take Storage Vertical
Talk about aesthetic. This mom decided she would help her daughter manage her growing board came collection by ditching the boxes. Instead, she opted to frame the game boards and store them on the walls, keeping all of the pieces in a zip lock baggie stored behind the frame.
Not only does this free up more room on the shelves, but it also reduces the visual clutter there. We have a hunch it also makes it easier for everyone to get into a gaming mood, since there isn't a whole lot of clean up!
Water Troughs Are Great for Toy Storage
We're still stuck on how cute the OP's idea is. Like the commentor on her post said, this is something that can absolutely grow with your family, creating the perfect spot for you to store toys when your kids are young. Once they grow out of it, you can use it to store other items or even turn it into a cute outdoor planter.
The possibilities are endless with something this sturdy and durable!
