‘Intermittent power supply’: Renewables cause a ‘whole heap of problems’

Nationals MP Keith Pitt has labelled renewables an “intermittent power supply” which causes a “whole heap of problems”.

Renewables currently make up 35 per cent of Australia’s energy system.

“I’ve always been a great proponent of building stuff that works,” Mr Pitt told Sky News Australia.

“What’s been proven over and over and over is if you have an intermittent power supply, then you’ll have an intermittent source of electricity which gives you intermittent use and causes a whole heap of problems.

“You can’t run the country on part-time power.”
