China is building ‘two coal-fired power stations a week’: Matt Canavan

Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says China is building “two coal-fired power stations a week”.

Opposition leader Peter Dutton says he will not quit the Paris Accord or give up on net zero.

It is understood Mr Dutton's recent dismissal of the 2030 climate target was due to the goal being unachievable.

“I don’t see how this is a coherent argument because China is building two coal-fired power stations a week,” Mr Canavan told Sky News Australia.

“That doesn’t make any sense.”
